What is an influencer, anyway?
The word is so new that it still poses a problem for spell-checkers! In essence, an influencer is your old-fashioned celebrity, but instead of seeing them on your TV, you see them on Facebook, YouTube and, most commonly, Instagram.
Whilst there are some who have very loyal followings, not all users are as genuine as they might seem.
For example, it’s not uncommon for someone to buy a few thousand followers, post some content and declare themselves an influencer.
So it’s worth taking some time to ensure that the potential partner has the audience they say they do.
